"You're brighter than any star I have ever seen," he whispered into her ear. "You're the one who shines..." Moving his arms gently, he wanted hers on top of his, feeling her touch and her weight even in the smallest of ways. His chest was firm to her back and he easily breathed in her scent as he stood there.

"There's always a fight." He frowned, giving her hand a squeeze. "This one could be a bad one." He worried. Not for himself, but for others. For her. For Steve, his Stevie. For the place that he had been living, the place he'd come to love and it would break his heart to see it die.

He sighed. "Always a lot of dark around me. You seem to cut through it." His head tilted and he placed kisses on her shoulder. "I finally come back and I might lose everything all over again. This is my life," he says sadly.

Bucky smiled, turning so that he could look down at her. There was a hint of something in his eyes as he leaned in, kissing her cheek. "I remember you. I remember everything now. Not losing that." One of his hands came up to cup her cheek, running his thumb along the length of her jawline. "No matter what happens, I'll stand by you. By Steve. That's where I belong."

It had been too long. Lifting her hand to his lips, he kissed her fingertips. "Do you remember the nights before a mission? How we would prepare for them?" He laughed lightly. "Fighting until we could barely stand, then fighting some more." He gave her hand a squeeze.

"I've really grown to love this place. You'd hate it. Too slow."
